From Company Layoff to New Business

“I think there will be a lot of new businesses created with all the technology layoffs. Way too many talented people are floating around now.” This is a text I sent off to my best friend, and I believe it is so true.

Two months ago, we got the news that my husband was laid off with others at his company. If I were honest, we went through all the emotions from stress, relief, and tears (on my end), and we looked at each other and asked, “What’s next?”

In the last few months, my husband went through his connections and LinkedIn, applying for positions with a few interviews but not much luck. I’m sure many others can relate to this feeling. Yet, we thought there had to be a solution during this time. My husband is a talented recruiter with nine years of experience who can find the world’s unicorns (individuals with high-technological skills plus a clearance).

That's when the idea for Lowcountry Staffing and Consulting clicked! A company born in the Lowcountry serving staffing needs in the US for companies seeking specific skill sets (primarily technical) within the public sector and private companies marketing services.

We are excited to introduce a company looking to help others with their staffing needs!

Special thanks to our families, friends, and past colleagues for getting us to this point. We would not be in this position without your love, support, and signs from above.
